Taster Sessions

If you've always wanted to give it a go, the two-hour Ullswater Sailing School taster is just what you need. After a session on land covering the basics of boat controls, we get you out on the water with an instructor to have a go yourself. Once you are hooked on the sport of sailing, follow the RYA courses to develop your independence on the water.

  • Sailing is one of the most inclusive sports around and there's no better feeling of freedom than being out on the water. This is a great way to get on the water for the first time, if you're new to the sport there's no better way to start your sailing adventure. Ullswater Sailing School offers Adult Sailing Courses tailored to you. Personal Coaching is one of the most effective ways of learning to sail, therefore, for adults we offer 1.1 or 2.1 and group tuition. This allows us to provide the most comprehensive, effective and time efficient means of teaching. The ability to tailor the course to previous sailing experience (if any!) makes personal coaching a more flexible and fun way to learn. Adult courses are usually undertaken in either a Laser Bahia or Laser Stratos.

  • The family-friendly sailing tasters are open to anyone over the age of eight and no experience is necessary. It's also a chance for complete newcomers to experience the thrill of being on the water together and appreciating the wonderful scenery in a safe environment.
